Silver is a very well bred pure Arabian mare. She began her career in
Silver came into our family in 1994 for pleasure riding and fun at open
shows. We even tried reining, her lead changes were effortless, her
rollbacks impressive and her circles a thing of beauty, but her desire to
run was stronger than her desire to slide to a stop.
Her friendliness and desire to please won her many fans and
endeared her to us. She always wanted to be with me even when she
had no strings attached. I could catch her without a halter, she would
always come to me as soon as I entered the pasture. I could even call
her out of our thick bush and not have to traipse through it to find her.
She would follow me to our grooming/tacking area, stand without halter
until we were ready to ride, and then untack and go back to the pasture
without anything on her.
I didn't need a halter for deworming or vaccinating either.
Silver had her last foal for us in 2005. She was open in 2006 and we
decided to never breed her again. She moved to the home of a friend
where she is queen of the pasture. She still looks and acts many
years younger than she is.
Silver was a wonderful broodmare and passed her great disposition
and floating movement to all her babies. She also passed on her
great legs, feet and good health.
